Technical Analysis

This vulnerability (CVE-2026-95862) is classified as CWE-787 (Out-of-bounds Write) affecting Ubiquiti Inc Dream Machines UniFi gateway devices. An attacker with network access can trigger an out-of-bounds write condition, leading to a denial of service (DoS) on the device. The vulnerability does not allow for privilege escalation, data disclosure, or integrity compromise, but causes availability impact. It affects versions prior to 5.1.31, 4.0.21, and 5.1.26 of the product. There is no indication of active exploitation or publicly available exploit code. The CVSS vector indicates network attack vector, low attack complexity, no privileges or user interaction required, and an impact limited to availability.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation results in denial of service (device unavailability) without affecting confidentiality or integrity. This could disrupt network operations relying on the affected UniFi gateway devices.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. No official fixes or patches are referenced in the provided data. Until a patch is available, limit network access to trusted users and monitor for unusual device behavior.
