Technical Analysis

The Easy Property Listings plugin for WordPress prior to version 3.5.28 does not properly restrict which listing fields are included in the public REST API output. This lack of access control allows unauthenticated users to retrieve sensitive information about published listings, including financial details and precise location data, which should have been concealed according to site settings. This vulnerability is classified as CWE-200 (Information Exposure).

Potential Impact

Unauthenticated attackers can access sensitive property listing information that site administrators intended to keep private. This exposure may lead to privacy violations and could facilitate further targeted attacks or misuse of the exposed data. There is no indication of active exploitation in the wild.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade the Easy Property Listings plugin to version 3.5.28 or later, where this issue has been fixed. No other mitigation is required as the vulnerability is addressed in the official plugin update.
