A fix is available that validates parameters against fixed buffer sizes and corrects the maximum fragment size in the driver. Users should apply the official patches or update to fixed versions of the Linux kernel that include this correction. No additional mitigation is required once patched.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ASoC sprd driver allows local users to overflow fixed-size buffers due to improper validation of compress buffer sizes. The driver allocates fixed-size buffers but does not properly check user-controlled parameters against these sizes, enabling buffer overflows. This issue has been resolved by rejecting parameters that exceed the fixed buffer sizes and correcting the advertised maximum fragment size.
