AI-suggested
A fix is available that enforces stricter argument validation for bpf_loop() to reject non-scalar iteration counts. Users should update to a patched kernel version that includes this fix. Since this is not a cloud service, remediation depends on applying the updated kernel. Patch status is not explicitly confirmed in the provided data; check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's bpf_loop() helper function allowed non-scalar iteration counts to be passed, which could trigger a kernel panic on systems with panic_on_warn enabled. This issue was addressed by introducing stricter argument type validation to reject pointer values for the iteration count parameter.
