A fix has been implemented that rate limits unmapped SID error messages in the kernel log. Users should apply the official kernel update that includes this fix once available. No other mitigation or workaround is indicated.

Description

CVE-2026-98113 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ksmbd component where a client can send many structurally valid but unmapped SIDs in a DACL, causing excessive kernel error logging. This can lead to a denial of service by flooding the kernel log with error messages. The vulnerability is addressed by rate limiting these error messages to prevent log flooding by authenticated clients.
