AI-suggested

This vulnerability has been fixed in the Linux kernel. Users should update to a kernel version that includes the fix identified by the listed commit hashes. No additional mitigation is required once the patch is applied.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's hwmon subsystem (pmbus/core) involved an insufficient number of phases supported, which could lead to out-of-bounds writes when probing certain hardware monitoring chips. The issue was fixed by increasing the number of supported phases to 16 and adding a new mask for controlling the output voltage source. This patch addresses potential memory corruption caused by drivers supporting more phases than previously accounted for.
