A fix is available and has been applied in Linux kernel versions 5.11, 5.16, 6.1.189, 6.6.158, 6.12.112, 6.18.54, and 7.2.8. Users and administrators should upgrade to these or later kernel versions to remediate the vulnerability.
Description
A race condition vulnerability in the Linux kernel ALSA bcd2000 driver was fixed. The flaw involved a race between rawmidi operations and USB disconnect handling, potentially allowing use-after-free (UAF) issues due to concurrent access to USB Request Blocks (URBs). The fix introduced a spinlock to synchronize rawmidi operations and USB disconnect callbacks, preventing concurrent access to URBs during disconnect.
