AI-suggested

A fix is available and has been applied in the Linux kernel after version 6.10, as indicated by the provided commit hashes. Users and administrators should update their Linux kernel to a fixed version containing these commits to remediate the vulnerability.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's TPM subsystem was fixed to address an off-by-four bounds check error in the tpm2_get_random() function. The flaw allowed memcpy() to read up to 4 bytes beyond the end of a truncated TPM response, potentially leaking stale buffer contents as random bytes. The issue was corrected by adjusting the bounds check to properly account for the parameter size field in the response.
