AI-suggested
A fix has been applied to clear the rdev pointer on device initialization failure, preventing invalid pointer dereference. Users should update to the fixed Linux kernel version once available. No additional mitigation steps are indicated.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's accel/rocket driver involves improper handling of the rdev pointer on device initialization failure. The rocket_probe() function sets the rdev pointer before checking for errors from rocket_device_init(). If initialization fails, rdev remains an error pointer, which can later be dereferenced, causing a fault.
