AI-suggested

A fix has been implemented in the Linux kernel by taking the invalidate_lock shared in ntfs_filemap_page_mkwrite(). Users should update to the fixed kernel versions identified by the commits 57c0d5281666d150c73e56e6795a4eef3ede8693 and 0fecc393f2060e6bc25138df32cb923ec7071c6b. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying these updates.

Description

A race condition vulnerability in the Linux kernel's NTFS driver was fixed by ensuring the invalidate_lock is taken during the ntfs_filemap_page_mkwrite() function. Without this lock, concurrent truncate or fallocate operations could interfere with pagecache invalidation and runlist rewriting, potentially causing data corruption or instability. The fix involves taking the invalidate_lock shared around iomap_page_mkwrite() to prevent these races.
