AI-suggested

A fix is available and has been applied in the Linux kernel versions identified by commits 67aded1da114dc44808315f249bd9e7e440f799d and 7dd1c2fec6ebdd1a88a02cb58ff515a258eeb327. Users should update to these fixed versions to remediate the vulnerability.

Description

A race condition in the Linux kernel's NTFS fallocate implementation could allow concurrent mmap reads to access uninitialized disk data, leading to information leakage and data integrity issues. The flaw arises because the invalidate_lock is not held during standard allocation modes, allowing mmap page faults to read old disk contents before zeroing completes. The issue is fixed by extending the invalidate_lock to all fallocate operations.
