Description
CVE-2026-99249 is a Linux kernel vulnerability involving the pid namespace subsystem. The function zap_pid_ns_processes() was not freezable, causing indefinite waits when the init process of a pid namespace exits if traced zombies were not reaped by an external tracer. This prevented user space processes from freezing properly, leading to failures in suspend attempts. The issue was notably triggered by Chromium-based browsers using crashpad for crash dumps. The vulnerability has been fixed in several Linux kernel commits.
