Description

CVE-2026-48962 is a high-severity vulnerability in the Perl IO::Compress module before version 2.220. It allows arbitrary code execution due to improper neutralization of directives in dynamically evaluated code within File::GlobMapper. Specifically, an attacker-controlled output glob string is wrapped in double quotes and then evaluated via Perl's eval, enabling injection of arbitrary Perl code if the output glob contains a literal double quote. This code executes with the privileges of the calling process.
