Exposure of Sensitive Information Through Metadata vulnerability in Apache ActiveMQ Broker, Apache ActiveMQ, Apache ActiveMQ All. (CVE-2026-49270)
Description
Apache ActiveMQ Broker versions before 5.19.7 and from 6.0.0 before 6.2.6 have a vulnerability where an unauthenticated attacker can obtain sensitive metadata about durable topic subscriptions. This includes client identifiers, subscription names, topic destinations, and JMS selector expressions. The issue arises when the broker responds to a BrokerInfo command without verifying authentication if the network connector is configured with syncDurableSubs set to true. Upgrading to versions 5.19.7 or 6.2.6 resolves this vulnerability.

Technical Analysis
This vulnerability in Apache ActiveMQ Broker allows an unauthenticated attacker to retrieve a list of all durable topic subscriptions, including sensitive metadata such as client identifiers, subscription names, topic destinations, and JMS selector expressions. The flaw occurs because the broker responds to a BrokerInfo command without ensuring the connection is authenticated when syncDurableSubs is set to true on a network connector. Affected versions include all releases before 5.19.7 and from 6.0.0 before 6.2.6. The issue is fixed in Apache ActiveMQ versions 5.19.7 and 6.2.6.
Potential Impact
An unauthenticated attacker can gain access to sensitive information about durable topic subscriptions on the broker, which may aid in further reconnaissance or targeted attacks. The confidentiality of client identifiers, subscription names, topic destinations, and JMS selector expressions is compromised. There is no impact on integrity or availability reported.
Mitigation Recommendations
Users should upgrade Apache ActiveMQ Broker to version 5.19.7 or 6.2.6 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigations are specified. Patch status is confirmed by the vendor advisory recommending these versions.
