AI-suggested

A patch is available in Fastmcp version 3.4.5 that addresses this issue. Users should upgrade to version 3.4.5 or later to remediate the vulnerability. As a temporary workaround, closing sys.stderr in the target function can prevent the deadlock caused by the pipe filling.

Description

Fastmcp's AnyIO process-pool workers have a vulnerability where stderr is connected to a pipe but not drained, causing the pipe to fill and block the worker indefinitely. This can occur when untrusted or faulty code writes excessive data to stderr, leading to a deadlock in the process-pool call. The issue affects versions from 2.12.3 up to but not including 3.4.5. A fix is available in version 3.4.5. As a workaround, closing sys.stderr in the target function can help prevent the deadlock.
