A patch is available in fastmcp version 3.2.4 that fixes this vulnerability. Users should upgrade to version 3.2.4 or later to remediate the issue. No additional mitigations are required if the patch is applied.

Description

Authlib's OAuth 2.0 authorization endpoint in fastmcp versions >=2.12.3 and <3.2.4 contains an open redirect vulnerability. This occurs when an unsupported response_type is used along with an attacker-controlled redirect_uri, allowing an unauthenticated attacker to trigger a redirect to an arbitrary URL without client validation. The issue arises because the redirect_uri is copied into an error response before any client lookup or redirect URI validation. A fix is available in version 3.2.4.
