Users should avoid operating inside untrusted Go projects that define bogus modules and connecting to untrusted GOMODPROXY servers until a fix is confirmed.
Description
A vulnerability in Golang 1.10 allows a user operating inside a malicious Go project that defines a bogus golang.org/fips140 module and controls a malicious GOMODPROXY to serve an arbitrary module in place of the legitimate one. The issue is addressed by unpacking the trusted ziphash for the bundled golang.org/fips140 module and verifying it in the GOMODCACHE. This vulnerability has a high severity score of 7.8 CVSS 3.1 and affects multiple Ubuntu package versions of Golang.
