Until a fix is available, users should be cautious when validating certificate chains with excluded DNS constraints and consider additional validation steps or workarounds if possible.
Description
A vulnerability in Golang 1.10 affects the verification of certificate chains containing excluded DNS constraints. Specifically, these constraints are not correctly applied to wildcard DNS Subject Alternative Names (SANs) when the case differs between the SAN and the constraint. This impacts validation of otherwise trusted certificate chains issued by root CAs present in the VerifyOptions.Roots CertPool or the system certificate pool.
