Upgrade TeamViewer Full Client and Host for Windows to version 15.82 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. Restrict local user access to the installer staging directory as an interim mitigation if upgrading is not immediately possible.
Description
A vulnerability in TeamViewer Full Client and Host prior to version 15.82 for Windows allows a local authenticated user with low privileges to execute arbitrary commands as SYSTEM. This occurs due to improper access control in the installer staging directory during the installation of Advanced Asset Management. An attacker can exploit this by placing a crafted installer options file that the installer processes during service activation.
