Description

A high-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's NTFS3 filesystem driver was resolved. The issue involves insufficient bounds checking on the view.data_off field in UpdateRecordDataRoot and UpdateRecordDataAllocation functions, leading to out-of-bounds memory writes. This flaw could allow an attacker with local access and user interaction to cause memory corruption with potential confidentiality, integrity, and availability impacts.
