AI-suggested

A patch is available in Unity Catalog server version 0.4.1 that fixes this vulnerability. Users should upgrade to version 0.4.1 or later to remediate the issue. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official fix.

Description

A critical authentication bypass vulnerability exists in the Unity Catalog server's token exchange endpoint. The endpoint does not validate that the JWT issuer is a trusted identity provider, allowing attackers to use a self-hosted OIDC server to craft tokens that impersonate any user. The vulnerability also lacks audience claim validation, enabling tokens intended for other services to be accepted. This flaw allows complete user impersonation and access to all resources the user can access. A fix is available in version 0.4.1.
