AI-suggested

A fix is available in @cyclonedx/cdxgen version 12.3.3, which implements strict hostname matching to prevent credential forwarding to unintended registries. Users should upgrade to version 12.3.3 or later to remediate this vulnerability. No additional mitigation steps are required if the upgrade is applied.

Description

The @cyclonedx/cdxgen package versions from 9.9.5 up to but not including 12.3.3 contain a vulnerability where Docker registry credentials can be forwarded incorrectly due to substring matching of registry hostnames. This causes credentials intended for one private registry to be sent to a different registry if the requested registry's hostname is a substring of the private registry's hostname. This misbinding can expose private registry credentials during Docker image pulls initiated by cdxgen.
