AI-suggested

If you cannot patch yet, avoid using vulnerable versions of langroid (<=0.59.31) in untrusted environments. Restrict access to the pandas_eval tool and disable or limit user-controlled expression evaluation.

Description

Langroid versions up to 0.59.31 contain a vulnerability in the TableChatAgent component where a Web Application Firewall (WAF) bypass allows remote code execution (RCE). The vulnerability arises because the WAF does not properly block dangerous inputs due to a function returning False instead of raising an error, combined with unrestricted access to dangerous Python dunder attributes. This enables attackers to chain DataFrame methods to leak the eval builtin and execute arbitrary code. A proof-of-concept demonstrates executing shell commands via the pandas_eval tool.
