Description

LaraDashboard versions prior to 1.4.8 have an open redirect vulnerability in the EmailTemplateController's builder and builderEdit functions. This flaw allows remote attackers to craft URLs with an unvalidated redirect_url parameter that, when used by logged-in users with email template permissions, can redirect them to attacker-controlled phishing sites.

Technical Analysis

An open redirect vulnerability exists in LaraDashboard prior to version 1.4.8. Remote attackers can exploit the unvalidated redirect_url parameter in the EmailTemplateController's builder and builderEdit endpoints. By sending crafted links to authenticated users with email template permissions, attackers can cause these users to be redirected to malicious phishing sites upon saving an email template.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability allows attackers to redirect authenticated users with email template permissions to attacker-controlled phishing sites. This can facilitate phishing attacks by leveraging trusted URLs within the application. The impact is limited to confidentiality and integrity with no availability impact, as indicated by the CVSS vector.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade LaraDashboard to version 1.4.8 or later where this open redirect vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation or temporary workaround is indicated in the provided data.
