Upgrade to Cpanel::JSON::XS version 4.80 or later, where this memory leak issue is fixed. No other mitigation or temporary workaround is indicated in the available data.
Description
Cpanel::JSON::XS versions before 4.80 for Perl have a memory leak vulnerability where decoded arguments of a tagged value are leaked if the THAW method dies during decode_tag. This occurs because the decoded class name and argument array are only released after THAW returns, so an error in THAW causes the decoded argument structure to remain allocated. An attacker can exploit this by sending specially crafted documents that cause repeated errors, leading to memory exhaustion in the process.
