AI-suggested
A patch is available and should be applied immediately by updating to linux-azure-fde-7.0 package versions 7.0.0-1013.13~24.04.1 or 7.0.0-1013.13 as appropriate for the Ubuntu release. After updating, a system reboot is required to activate the fixes. Due to an unavoidable ABI change, all third-party kernel modules must be recompiled and reinstalled to ensure compatibility with the updated kernel. Follow the vendor advisory at https://ubuntu.com/security/notices/USN-8801-1 for detailed update instructions.
Description
A set of vulnerabilities affecting the Linux kernel for Microsoft Azure CVM cloud systems, including a critical issue (CVE-2025-10263) on some Arm processors where a local attacker could write to memory after permission revocation due to premature TLB invalidation. Additional flaws affect character device drivers, networking core, IPv6 networking, and Unix domain sockets. These vulnerabilities could allow local attackers to bypass memory protections or escalate privileges. Fixes are available in updated kernel versions and require a system reboot and recompilation of third-party kernel modules due to ABI changes.
