AI-suggested

A security update is available that fixes these vulnerabilities in the Linux kernel for Azure. Users should update their systems to version 6.8.0-1054.60 or later and reboot to apply all necessary changes. Due to an ABI change, recompilation and reinstallation of third-party kernel modules may be required. Follow the vendor advisory at https://ubuntu.com/security/notices/USN-8258-1 for detailed update instructions.

Description

Multiple security vulnerabilities were discovered in the Linux kernel for Azure, including a critical flaw named EntrySign affecting some AMD Zen processors. This flaw allows improper verification of CPU microcode signatures, potentially enabling a privileged attacker to load malicious microcode and compromise system integrity and confidentiality. The update addresses numerous security issues across a wide range of kernel subsystems and drivers. A patch is available and users are advised to update and reboot their systems to apply the fixes.
