AI-suggested
A security update is available and should be applied immediately. Users should upgrade to linux-image-6.8.0-1067.75 or later and reboot their systems to apply the fixes. Due to an ABI change, all third-party kernel modules must be recompiled and reinstalled after the update. Standard system upgrades will handle this automatically unless kernel metapackages were manually removed. Follow the vendor advisory at https://ubuntu.com/security/notices/USN-8761-1 for detailed update instructions.
Description
Multiple security vulnerabilities were discovered in the Linux kernel for Azure cloud systems affecting numerous subsystems including architectures (ARM32, ARM64, PowerPC), drivers, networking, filesystems, and security modules. These flaws could potentially allow an attacker to compromise the system. A security update addressing these issues has been released and requires a system reboot and recompilation of third-party kernel modules due to an ABI change.
