Published: 07/13/2026 (07/13/2026, 06:12:52 UTC)
Source: GCVE Database
Product: vibewise-cli

Description

The vibewise-cli npm package contains malicious code that compromises any computer on which it is installed or running. The compromise is severe enough that all secrets and keys stored on the affected system should be rotated immediately from a different, trusted machine. Removing the package alone may not eliminate the malicious presence, as full control of the system may have been granted to an attacker.

Technical Analysis

The vibewise-cli package distributed via npm is identified as containing malicious code. Installation or execution of this package results in a full system compromise, potentially allowing an attacker to control the affected computer. Due to the severity of the compromise, all credentials and keys stored on the system are considered exposed and must be rotated from a secure environment. The package removal does not guarantee remediation because the attacker may have installed additional persistent malicious components.

Potential Impact

Full compromise of any computer with the vibewise-cli package installed or running. Exposure of all secrets and keys stored on the system. Potential persistent attacker control beyond the presence of the package itself.

Mitigation Recommendations

Immediately remove the vibewise-cli package from affected systems. Rotate all secrets, keys, and credentials from a separate, secure computer. Conduct a thorough investigation and remediation of the affected system, as removing the package alone may not remove all malicious software or attacker footholds.
