Technical Analysis

The npm package xnder-sdk-js version 0.1.0 is identified as containing malicious code that compromises the host system completely. According to the source advisory, any system with this package installed should be considered fully compromised, with potential unauthorized control by an external entity. The package removal alone is insufficient to ensure system integrity, necessitating secret and key rotations from a clean environment.

Potential Impact

Full system compromise on any computer with xnder-sdk-js version 0.1.0 installed. Potential exposure and loss of all stored secrets and keys. The malicious package may have installed additional undetected malware, making remediation complex.

Mitigation Recommendations

Remove the xnder-sdk-js package version 0.1.0 immediately. Rotate all secrets and keys from a different, uncompromised computer. Conduct a thorough system investigation and remediation as the package removal alone does not guarantee full cleanup.
