Description
The npm package andi-sate34-sluey was identified as containing malicious code linked to a large-scale spam campaign flooding the npm registry with over 15,000 packages in 2024. These packages include autopublish scripts that automatically generate and publish derivative packages with randomized names to manipulate developer reputation scores for the tea.xyz token reward system. The malicious payload alters package.json files by removing private flags, changing version numbers, and generating random Indonesian-themed package names, continuously republishing variants to pollute the npm ecosystem.
