Malicious code in beaver-ui-table (npm)

Critical
Published: 08/05/2026 (08/05/2026, 14:48:14 UTC)
Source: GCVE Database
Product: beaver-ui-table

Description

The npm package beaver-ui-table version 35.2.7 contains malicious code that downloads and executes a native binary from obfuscated Cloudflare Worker domains and a DNS-TXT fallback. This binary is saved under disguised filenames in temporary directories, given execute permissions, and run detached in the background. The package includes obfuscation techniques such as dynamic hostname assembly, covert DNS fallback, and anonymous hosting. Any system with this package installed should be considered fully compromised, and secrets or keys stored on it should be rotated immediately.

Technical Analysis

The beaver-ui-table npm package version 35.2.7 includes a malicious setup.js module that unconditionally loads at runtime. This module dynamically constructs hostnames for Cloudflare Worker subdomains to download an opaque native binary over HTTPS. If that fails, it uses a DNS-TXT covert channel fallback under *.dl.wel1.ru. The binary is saved to temporary directories with disguised filenames, permissions are set to executable (chmod 0755), and it is spawned detached via shell commands. An unreferenced telemetry.js module mirrors this dropper behavior as a decoy. The obfuscation and execution pattern match known binary-runner dropper malware. There is no legitimate native build or vendor SDK functionality present.

Potential Impact

Systems with this package installed are fully compromised, as the malicious code downloads and executes arbitrary native binaries with detached execution. This can lead to complete system takeover by an attacker. All secrets and keys stored on the compromised system should be considered exposed and rotated immediately. Removing the package alone does not guarantee removal of all malicious components or persistence mechanisms.

Defensive Guidance

Remove the beaver-ui-table package version 35.2.7 immediately from all affected systems. Rotate all secrets, keys, and credentials that were stored or used on compromised machines from a separate, trusted environment. Because the package grants full control to an attacker, assume the system is compromised and consider rebuilding or thoroughly cleaning the affected hosts. No official patch or fix is available; remediation requires removal and secret rotation.
