Description
The npm package bella-empal1-tititugel contains malicious code linked to a large-scale token reward campaign that flooded npm with over 15,000 spam packages in 2024. The malicious payload includes scripts that automatically generate and publish derivative packages with randomized Indonesian-themed names to manipulate developer reputation scores for the tea.xyz token rewards. It modifies package.json files to remove private flags, alters version numbers, and continuously republishes variants, thereby polluting the npm registry.
