Description
The npm package citra-miemee49-apidev was identified as containing malicious code linked to the tea.xyz token reward campaign. This campaign flooded npm with over 15,000 spam packages in 2024 that include autopublish scripts to automatically generate and publish derivative packages with randomized names. The malicious payload alters package.json files by removing private flags, changing version numbers, and generating random Indonesian-themed package names, continuously republishing variants to pollute the npm registry.
