Description

The npm package citra-rangi43-riris contains malicious code linked to a large-scale token reward campaign that flooded npm with over 15,000 spam packages in 2024. These packages use autopublish scripts to automatically generate and publish derivative packages with randomized Indonesian-themed names. The malicious payload modifies package metadata to remove privacy flags, alter version numbers, and continuously republish variants, polluting the npm registry and inflating developer reputation scores for the tea protocol token rewards.
