Malicious code in curse-dependent (npm)
Description
The curse-dependent npm package contains malicious code that fully compromises any computer on which it is installed or running. This compromise includes potential unauthorized access to all secrets and keys stored on the affected system. Removal of the package alone does not guarantee elimination of all malicious software introduced by the package, as full control may have been given to an attacker.

Technical Analysis
The curse-dependent package in the npm ecosystem is identified as malicious software that, when installed or executed, results in a full system compromise. The compromise allows attackers to access all stored secrets and keys on the affected machine. Due to the extent of control gained, simply uninstalling the package does not ensure removal of all malicious artifacts or backdoors introduced. Immediate secret and key rotation from a separate, uncompromised system is strongly advised.
Potential Impact
Complete compromise of any system with the curse-dependent package installed or running. All stored secrets and keys on the system are considered exposed and must be rotated. The attacker may maintain persistent access beyond the presence of the package itself.
Defensive Guidance
Remove the curse-dependent package immediately. Rotate all secrets and keys from a different, secure computer to prevent further unauthorized access. Because the system may be fully compromised, consider a full system rebuild or forensic analysis to ensure removal of all malicious components.
