The devplatform-cli-contracts npm package version 35.7.3 contains malicious code that automatically fetches and executes a platform-specific binary from external, non-publisher-controlled hosts upon import. This binary is saved under decoy filenames in temporary directories and executed detached from the main process. The malicious behavior includes reconstructing destination hostnames from split strings and uses DNS-TXT fallbacks. A cooldown marker prevents repeated execution during the same runtime.
