Description
The npm package dewanto-gaplek49-rudi0x is part of a large-scale malicious campaign involving over 15,000 spam packages flooding the npm registry in 2024. These packages contain autopublish scripts that automatically generate and publish derivative packages with randomized Indonesian-themed names. The malicious code modifies package metadata to remove private flags and increment version numbers, enabling continuous republishing to inflate developer reputation scores for the tea.xyz token reward system and pollute the npm ecosystem.
