Technical Analysis

The sol-sdk package at version 2.3.18 is identified as containing malicious code. Installation or execution of this package version results in a full compromise of the host system, allowing an attacker to gain control. Due to the severity of the compromise, removing the package alone may not fully eradicate the malicious presence, and all stored secrets and keys must be rotated from a secure environment.

Potential Impact

Any system with sol-sdk version 2.3.18 installed is considered fully compromised, with potential unauthorized access to all stored secrets and keys. The attacker may have persistent control beyond just the presence of the malicious package, posing a critical security risk.

Defensive Guidance

Remove the sol-sdk package version 2.3.18 immediately from affected systems. Rotate all secrets and keys from a separate, trusted computer to prevent further unauthorized access. Due to the potential for persistent compromise, consider a full system audit and remediation beyond package removal.
