Description
The npm package @wagni_bot/web3-toolkit versions 1.0.0 and 1.2.0 contains malicious code that executes automatically during installation. It scans the user's home directory and OS-specific paths for files related to cryptocurrency wallets, keystores, seed phrases, and credentials. The malicious payload exfiltrates sensitive data such as wallet keys, seed phrases, and credentials over unencrypted HTTP to a hardcoded remote server. The package provides no legitimate functionality and is designed to lure crypto developers.
