AI-suggested

A fix is available. Users should update to the patched versions: 8.0.29, 9.0.18, or 10.0.10 of the Microsoft.WindowsDesktop.App.Runtime.win packages depending on their .NET version. Developers must update their applications to reference these patched package versions. For self-contained applications targeting affected versions, recompilation and redeployment with updated runtimes are required. After updating, restart applications to apply the fixes.

Description

An elevation of privilege vulnerability exists in Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) in Microsoft .NET 8, 9, and 10 when parsing specially crafted XAML input. This vulnerability could allow an attacker to elevate privileges on the affected system. The issue is due to improper control of code generation (CWE-94). Affected package versions have been identified and patched in newer releases.
