MISP contains a race condition in the email-based one-time password (OTP) login flow. (CVE-2026-107276)
Description
MISP has a race condition vulnerability in its email-based one-time password (OTP) login flow. When two HTTP requests with the same valid OTP are submitted concurrently, both can authenticate successfully, violating the OTP's one-time-use guarantee. This occurs because OTP validation and deletion are not atomic operations, allowing a second request to reuse the OTP before it is deleted. This affects MISP versions prior to 2.5.48 and requires that email OTP login is enabled and the attacker has a valid OTP. The vulnerability weakens authentication controls and may allow unauthorized access if the OTP is intercepted or shared.

Technical Analysis
MISP contains a race condition in the email-based OTP login mechanism (CVE-2026-107276). The flaw arises because the OTP is read, validated, and deleted in separate non-atomic steps. If two HTTP POST requests carrying the same valid OTP are sent concurrently, both can authenticate successfully and establish sessions. This violates the intended one-time-use property of the OTP. The vulnerability requires that the target MISP instance has email OTP login enabled and that the attacker possesses a valid, unexpired OTP. The affected versions are all versions prior to 2.5.48.
Potential Impact
The vulnerability allows a single OTP to be used multiple times concurrently, violating the one-time-use guarantee. This weakens authentication controls and may facilitate unauthorized access if an attacker obtains or intercepts a valid OTP. The risk is limited to scenarios where the attacker can obtain a valid OTP and issue concurrent login requests.
Mitigation Recommendations
Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to the OTP delivery mechanism and monitor for suspicious concurrent login attempts. Consider disabling email-based OTP login if possible to reduce exposure.
