Description

A vulnerability in DJI CrystalSky ZS600C firmware versions 0.3.9.7 through 0.6.6.9 allows a local application without permissions to execute arbitrary OS commands as root. This occurs due to missing authorization checks in the native binder service 'android.dji.server' (transaction code 1018), where a caller-supplied string is passed unchecked to the root-privileged 'assistant' daemon's system() call.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-114354 describes a missing authorization vulnerability in the native binder service 'android.dji.server' on DJI CrystalSky ZS600C devices running firmware versions 0.3.9.7 through 0.6.6.9. The vulnerability arises because transaction code 1018 in this service passes a caller-supplied string directly to the system() function executed by a root-privileged daemon named 'assistant' without verifying caller identity or permissions. This allows any local application, even one without permissions, to execute arbitrary OS commands with root privileges.

Potential Impact

An unprivileged local application can gain root-level command execution on affected devices, potentially leading to full system compromise. This elevates the risk of unauthorized control over the device and its data. No known exploits in the wild have been reported at this time.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict local application installation to trusted sources and limit physical or local access to the device to reduce risk.
