Until an official fix is available, avoid processing untrusted markdown input containing the figure directive with the figwidth option or sanitize markdown inputs to prevent injection of arbitrary style declarations.
Description
Mistune versions from 3.2.1 up to but not including 3.3.0 contain a CSS injection vulnerability. This flaw allows attackers who can control markdown input to inject arbitrary CSS style declarations via the unvalidated figwidth option of the figure directive. Exploitation can cause victim browsers to send requests to attacker-controlled servers, potentially leaking attribute values. The vulnerability has a medium severity rating with a CVSS score of 4.7.
