AI-suggested

A fix is available in n8n-mcp version 2.50.2. Operators should upgrade to this version to mitigate the vulnerability. The patch improves SSRF protections by covering the n8n API client base URL and introducing configurable webhook security modes (strict, moderate, permissive) to control allowed request destinations. For deployments unable to upgrade immediately, recommended workarounds include restricting network egress from the n8n-mcp host via firewall or security groups to block cloud metadata IPs and unnecessary RFC1918 networks, running in stdio mode to avoid multi-tenant HTTP exposure, and disabling workflow management tools if not needed via the DISABLED_TOOLS environment variable. These mitigations reduce the attack surface and prevent unauthorized SSRF exploitation.

Description

CVE-2026-44694 is an authenticated Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in n8n-mcp affecting webhook trigger tools, the n8n API client, and URLs supplied via the x-n8n-url header in multi-tenant HTTP mode. An attacker with MCP session access can make HTTP requests from the n8n-mcp host to internal services and cloud metadata endpoints, potentially exfiltrating sensitive credentials. The vulnerability affects multi-tenant and single-tenant deployments, as well as stdio deployments via prompt injection. The issue is fixed in n8n-mcp version 2.50.2.
