Until a fix is available, avoid using the device authorization grant with public clients or implement additional validation of the device_code parameter in the token endpoint to ensure it is valid and properly associated with the client. Monitor vendor communications for updates and apply official patches once released.
Description
OAuthLib contains a vulnerability in its implementation of the OAuth 2.0 device authorization grant (RFC 8628). The token endpoint does not validate the device_code parameter, allowing an attacker who knows a valid client ID for a public client using the device workflow to obtain a bearer token without a valid device_code. This flaw affects versions of Ansible 9 starting from 9.13.0_1.
