AI-suggested
A fix is available in OW2 ASM version 9.11 and later. Users should upgrade to version 9.11 or newer to remediate this vulnerability. No other mitigation or workaround is indicated.
Description
OW2 ASM versions before 9.11 have a vulnerability in the ClassReader.readBootstrapMethodsAttribute() method where an attacker can cause excessive memory allocation by supplying a crafted class file. This leads to roughly 2 GB of memory being allocated without proper validation, causing an OutOfMemoryError that crashes the JVM or the consuming thread.
