AI-suggested
Upgrade cpp-httplib to version 0.37.2 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. Until then, avoid configuring clients with both proxy usage and set_follow_location(true) enabled, or implement additional TLS verification checks outside the library. No other vendor advisory mitigation is provided.
Description
cpp-httplib versions prior to 0.37.2 have a vulnerability where HTTPS redirects followed by a client configured with a proxy and set_follow_location(true) disable TLS certificate and hostname verification. This allows acceptance of any certificate from the redirect target, including expired or forged ones, without error. A network attacker able to return a redirect response can intercept the redirected HTTPS connection and capture sensitive data such as credentials or session tokens. The issue is fixed in version 0.37.2.
