Rabbitmq server: RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. (CVE-2026-66076)
Description
RabbitMQ prior to versions 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, 4.2.6, and 4.3.0 contains an authorization bypass vulnerability in the management plugin. The /api/queues/quorum/:vhost/:queue/status API endpoint reads the virtual host (vhost) from the path without verifying user access rights. Consequently, any user with the management tag can access Raft status information for quorum queues in vhosts they should not access, exposing cross-tenant queue names and cluster topology. This issue requires the management plugin to be enabled and the attacker to have a management tag. The vulnerability is fixed in the specified versions.

Technical Analysis
The vulnerability in RabbitMQ server affects versions prior to 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, 4.2.6, and 4.3.0. The is_authorized/2 function calls rabbit_mgmt_util:is_authorized/2, which only checks the management tag rather than the more restrictive is_authorized_vhost/2. This allows any user with the management tag to access the /api/queues/quorum/:vhost/:queue/status endpoint and retrieve Raft status information such as leader, members, term, and commit index for quorum queues in vhosts they do not have access to. This exposes sensitive information about queue names and cluster topology across tenants. The vulnerability requires the management plugin to be enabled and the attacker to have a management tag. The issue is resolved in the listed fixed versions.
Potential Impact
An attacker with a management tag can bypass intended access controls to read Raft status information for quorum queues in virtual hosts they should not access. This exposure reveals cross-tenant queue names and cluster topology details, potentially aiding further reconnaissance or attacks within multi-tenant RabbitMQ deployments. The impact is limited to information disclosure and requires the management plugin to be enabled and the attacker to have management privileges.
Mitigation Recommendations
This vulnerability is fixed in RabbitMQ versions 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, 4.2.6, and 4.3.0. Users should upgrade to one of these versions or later to remediate the issue. No additional mitigations are specified or required beyond applying the official fix.
