AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated 389-ds-base packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.2 and its variants that fix this vulnerability. Users should apply the official security update as described in the Red Hat advisory RHSA-2026:26452 and the referenced article https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258. No additional mitigations are specified or required beyond applying the update.

Description

A vulnerability in 389 Directory Server (389-ds-base) allows unbounded LDAP controls count in the function get_ldapmessage_controls_ext(), leading to CPU and heap amplification. This can cause a remote denial of service (DoS) condition. Red Hat has issued a security update addressing this issue in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.2 Update Services for SAP Solutions and related variants.
